Passion overdone

we watched the passion of the christ tonight. i had wanted to watch it for some time. i actually really wanted to watch it on its original released date, which was ash wednesday. thank god i didnt, i think it would of been the first movie i ever walked out on ( i generally dont believe walking out on films because u pay good money to watch them )
it was the most violent film i have ever watched and im a huge fan of violent films. in consist of 10 minutes where Jesus gets beaten, whipped and flayed to an inch of his life where strips of his flesh are torn off his body and this is all before the stations of the cross and the crucifixion. half way through this i mentally turned off the movie. i started whinging that the movie was anti-semitic and saying that mel gibson only put this movie on for his own sadistic pleasure. i expected the violence but it was way to much, the movie should of focused on the teachings of Jesus rather the horrifying violence that gibson increased with theatrical license. i was that convinced it was going way over the top i spent the rest of the movie reading 6 gospels to prove it. then i spent an hour researching on the wikipedia the movie and its accuracy and controversy over its anti semitic interpretations. gibson states its not suppose to be anti-semitic that it just shows the truth of the crucifixion of Jesus but i just cant believe that after watching the film. and even though Jesus's death was brutal and violent i still dont believe gibson can justified the violence in the film, which he claims he put in to shock ppl.
i was sadly disappointed in this film i was expecting it to inspire my faith, which it didnt (even though i did read gospels it was more about proving my point rather then for my faith.

Living in the Nest

Adrian discovered this great reality show on SBS recently. its a show about kids in their 20's still living at home and why and the explore the myths and real reasons why kids in their 20's still live at home with their parents. the show features 3 families

The Currans
Chris and Kerri have at least 3 children which includes 27 yr old Jeremy. Jeremy has a well paying job, a nice car and also has the disposable income of 3 other means including internet trading. Jeremy says he lives at home for the financial security. this means he can gamble 80k on the stock market, travel over seas and still know he has a home to go home to. Jeremy has moved out before and has also lived over seas.

The Troches
Oscar and Marta and their only child 25 yr old Anielka. Anielka is a full time student and works part time. she borrows her parents car and the most shoking thing is she has no bank account in stead her pay goes into her fathers account and he gives her cash as she needs it. this is because at one stage Anielka spent all her pay in one go so she cant be trusted with her own money. she did move out when she was younger but had a falling out with her room mates so she moved back home. the family even relocated to a bigger house to accommodate a growing Anielka.

The Wilkinsons
Paul and Jenny's 4 children all still live at home in their large family home and all pay bored which the Wilkinsons need to maintain the mortgage on  their home. they are a tight-nit family where everyone seems to be enjoying the situation.
Scott 27yrs, Scott works full time, own business installing car air conditioners. he has designed a system for improving car engine running. he was living out of home but moved back in when Jenny was diagnosed with breasts cancer.
Aaron 26yrs. his girlfriend, Fernanda also lives at home with them
Tara 23yrs is a working full time as a receptionist
Elise 20 yrs is a fulltime child care worker

the first experiment is moving the children out. they move tara and elise into house. this is for under 25s. and scott, aaron, fernanda, anilka, and jeremy are moved out together in the over 25 house. this is because their is diffrent myths for different ages. they are giving $500 each to kit out the house and can bring anything they want from home. the myths are that its too expensive to move out of home and ppl find it hard to share houses. in less then a day both houses are fully furnitured and they have moved in. the next experiment their bankcards and credit cards are taking away and they are given an average pay to live off that has the expenses already taken out. they are to record all their expenditure. this throws all of them into discomfort as they are all used to having more money.
meanwhile the parents are enjoying their new found freedom particularly the troches.
everyone settles in ver quikly elise and tara seem very successful able to mange their money and enjoying living out of home.
anilka is still dependent on her parents she is borrowing their car still, and her parents are often at the share house. she also has trouble living with her house mates
the next part they move the kids back in. much to every ones dismay. anilka parents have new rules for her about her role in the house as does jeremy and his rent is also increased ($300 a week!!!)
then roles are reversed so each person can appreciate others roles in  the house. its revealed jeremy does "sweet FA" as he puts it
anilka relishes in the roles reversal with her being completely nasty to her parents.

this whole show surprises me. i myself who moved out at 18 have trouble imagining why you would choose to live at home if you had the finical stability to move out. the troches seem to have a 3 person marriage and anikla has the impression she imposes herself onto her parents marriage and fights constantly with her father. what 25 yr old dosnt have a bank account?
the series ends next week. it looks like jeremy will stay at home even though it is very easy for him to move out his girlfriend even found him a share house right in t he cbd for less rent then he pays to his parents. anilka looks like she will move out. and unfortnualty the wilkinsons will have to sell their beloved family home that they have raised all their children in as the children move out.

Favourite Movies A

im using my massive dvd collection and my wish list for this list and i still think it will be incomplete but its the best i could do :)

American Pie trilogy  have to say the trilogy as they all go together but the original is the best obviously it was beyond funny when  i went to see it when i was 17. american pie 2 was all so great because all the cast reprised their roles and was faithful to the original. now the wedding is funny but they felt the need to outdo the previous two films with "jim embarrassing moments" and "stiffler gross moments" which were ott by the 3rd installments.
cast

Jason Biggs...Jim Levenstein

Chris Klein...Chris 'Oz' Ostreicher

Thomas Ian Nicholas...Kevin Myers

Alyson Hannigan...Michelle Flaherty

Eddie Kaye Thomas...Paul Finch

Seann William Scott...Steve Stifler (as Seann W. Scott)

Eugene Levy...Jim's Dad

Natasha Lyonne...Jessica

Mena Suvari...Heather

Jennifer Coolidge...Stifler's Mom
Quotes
Steve Stifler: I say, why don't you guys locate your dicks, remove the shrink wrap, and fucking *use* them!
Chris "Oz" Ostreicher: Suck me beautiful.
[while looking at a picture of Stifler's mom
MILF Guy #2: Dude that chick's a MILF!
MILF Guy #1: What to hell is that?
MILF Guy #2: M-I-L-F Mom I'd Like to Fuck!
MILF Guy #1: Yeah dude! Yeah!
Chuck Sherman: I'm a sophisticated sex robot, sent back in time to change the future for one lucky lady.

Trivia
The tuxedo that Sherman wears to the prom is the same one that Steve Buscemi wore in The Wedding Singer (1998).
The line, "Say my name, bitch," from the scene between Jason and Michelle was ad-libbed on the spot by Alyson Hannigan. The director and producer found it so amusing that it was kept in the final cut.

i know people are groning. we went to see this at the cinemas and i was the only one who liked it. i'm particle to kevin spacy films though. and he def deserved his oscar for this film
cast
Carolyn Burnham: Uh, whose car is that out front?
Lester Burnham: Mine. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. The car I've always wanted and now I have it. I rule!

Carolyn Burnham: This is a $4,000 sofa, upholstered in Italian silk. It is not just a couch.
Lester Burnham: [shouts] It's just a couch!
Carolyn Burnham: Your father and I were just discussing his day at work. Why don't you tell our daughter about it, honey?
Lester Burnham: Janie, today I quit my job. And then I told my boss to go fuck himself, and then I blackmailed him for almost sixty thousand dollars. Pass the asparagus.
Carolyn Burnham: Your father seems to think this type of behavior is something to be proud of.
Lester Burnham: And your mother seems to prefer I go through life like a fucking prisoner while she keeps my dick in a mason jar under the sink.
Carolyn Burnham: How dare you speak to me that way in front of her. And I marvel that you can be so contemptuous of me, on the same day that you LOSE your job.
Lester Burnham: Lose it? I didn't lose it. It's not like, "Whoops! Where'd my job go?" I QUIT. Someone pass me the
 asparagus.
Lester Burnham: I am sick and tired of being treated like I don't exist. You two do whatever you want, whenever you want to do it, and I don't complain.
Carolyn Burnham: Oh, you don't complain? Then I must be psychotic, then! What is this? Yeah, let's bring in the laugh-meter and see how loud it gets.
Lester Burnham: [Lester throws the asparagus plate at the wall] Don't interrupt me, honey!
Lester Burnham: [sits back down to eat] Oh, yeah, and one more thing, from now on we're going to have alternate dinner music because frankly - and I don't think I'm alone here -
[
looks in Jane's direction
Lester Burnham: I'm tired of this Lawrence Welk shit!

Trivia

The last name of Mena Suvari's character, Angela Hayes, is probably a reference to the last name of Lolita Haze, from the Vladimir Nabokov novel "Lolita."
Lester Burnham, a middle-aged man who develops an infatuation with an adolescent girl, is an update of Humbert Humbert from the classic novel "Lolita." "Lester Burnham" is an anagram for "Humbert learns."
Like his earlier film, The Usual Suspects (1995), this film ends with a Kevin Spacey voice-over, with the screen fading to black before he speaks the final words. ("You will someday" in this film; "He's gone" in The Usual Suspects (1995).)
In Lester's cubicle we see a small movie poster for The Usual Suspects (1995).

Macaroni and Tofu Bake....Actually YUM!!

adrian and i collect cook books, at one stage we had more then 50!. we culled them down and now have less, we probably have 20 now. we dont use them enough and i complain about it. adrian also buys Good Taste Magazine every month from Woolworth's. i have now made a rule that we need to cook the recipes out of the magazine if he wants to buy it. so last night we decided to make Cauliflower and Bacon Macaroni Cheese. i changed it up a bit, by adding broccoli and using tofu "cream" cheese because adrian couldnt find normal cream cheese at woolies. it was very yum. so here is the recipe.

Ingredients

290g of pasta (we used macaroni)
1/4 cauliflower cut into small pieces
broccoli cut into small pieces
250g diced bacon.
1 brown onion
1tsp of crushed/minced garlic
250g cream cheese (we used tofu)
2 1/2 cups of milk
1 tbs of dijon mustard (i used american mustard)
150g of grated cheese
2tbs fresh parsley

1. in a large sauce pan of boiling salted water boil the pasta for 8-9 minutes or until al dente. steam the vegetables. saute the bacon and onions with the garlic.
2. in a blender combine the cream cheese, milk and mustard. add salt and pepper to taste.
3. in a large bowl combine all ingredients except for 1/3 of the cheese
4. pour into a large oven dish and bake in a pre heated oven for 20 minutes on 220 degrees. then grill for 5 minutes of until cheese is browned.

Fave Music A

this may be harder then i thought!. if your reading this via my facebook u need to click the original version link to see the post properly on my blogger site.
so fave music for A is 3 ppl/groups

ABBA - i never thought i was an abba fan, but going through my ipod and itunes i have heaps of abba songs and so i guess i am. the winner takes it all is my favourite song. just because its not the typical song of abba's everyone likes and i liked the emotions agnetha shows in the film-clip

amanda marshall - i'll be okay, i loved this song from hearing it on the My best friends wedding soundtrack. the clip is just audio.

american hi fi - the art of loosing. i loved this from watching dawson creek. its a Jack song it plays it the final when he gets pulled over driving through capeside by doug witter. (this means nothing to no DC fans but i love that moment) i absoultly adore this song and can literally listen to it all day.

blog lifting....but music is sex

okay i saw this idea on my aunty's blog where she list her fav music a-z with youtube clips of vidoe clips i thought this was a great idea for someone who loves mucis as much as i do and find if difficult to "name my fav artist/group"
i love music so much always have bascially i equate music to sex. and if its not loud its not worth listening to! so when im driving around the music is blaring. adrian hates this. in his old age (when i first met him, i loved how he listened to music, you could hear him coming from streets away) he says that the music dosnt need to be above a 9 level in our car, when i love to listen to it at 25!
so stay tune for future post on this subject :)
im also going to do a movie version of it as well. im such a movie buff and am frequently on IMDB i thought id also compile a list of my fav movies a-z which will include quotes and trivia from the movie
